FAQs
This here is a list of common enquires and my response. Obviously. (Why I felt the need to include this explanation escapes me!)
If, after reading these, I haven’t answered your question, then please comment either to this post or a relevant one with your query and I’ll get back to you.

Troubleshooting
Do you take requests?
Yes and No. I’m not accepting requests for layouts or icons, but I am always open to suggestions. If you have a suggestion, leave me a comment in my most recent post. If a great majority of people wish to see a certain layout and/or icon I may do it. It never hurts to suggest!
Can you customize one of your layouts/icons so that it’s like *fill in the blank*?
Again, Yes and No. I won’t ever personalise any of my layouts/icons for one specific person (ie, put their name/username etc on it), so don’t even ask. But. If you would like a variation of the text wording on a layout/icon or something just as small then leave a comment and I may do it at my discretion. I most likely won’t say no to that.
NB. I will not put profanity on my layouts/icons.
Can I customize your layout/icons?
No. I spent a lot of time behind each and every graphic that I post, time that (most likely) should have been used for studying. Therefore, be considerate and leave my graphics how they are. But, like I mentioned above, if it’s something small, ask me and I may do it for you.
How do I apply your layout to my journal?
I've written a set of layout application instructions here that are quire generic and can be used to apply most layouts, mine or otherwise. Some specific instructions may also be found on the layout post itself. Older layouts have the instructions together with the overrides.
Can I use the overrides of one of your layouts with my own images?
By all means. But, you must tell me you are doing so and you must credit for the codes in your userinfo. There is a lot of time spent behind compiling the codes and making sure each and every one works, so please give credit where credit is due.
Can you customize the overrides to your layouts to include *insert request here* for me?
No, I will not customize the overrides. Not to repeat myself, but they’ve been done according to how I want them. If you wish to add more features, feel free. But you’ll have to do them yourself, and credit is still required.
Can I use one of your textless icons as a base?
Unless I specifically say otherwise, none of my icons can be used as bases. Simple as that!
What software do you use? Where do you get your brushes from?
I have both PSP8 and PS7. However, I much prefer PS and very rarely venture over to PSP. All my brushes sources are listed in my resources post here. I’m not advanced enough to make my own yet, unfortunately!
I love your *insert name here* icon/layout image! Can you tell me how you made it?
This involves compiling a tutorial and falls under ‘requests.’ I’m more inclined to write a tutorial, however, but it all depends on my RL schedule. I’m not likely to say no, though! Oh, and it depends if I remember how I did it in the first place… :s
Can I friend this and your personal journal?
By all means, go ahead. This journal is public, so if you add me, I’ll add you. Simple. My personal journal is friend locked merely to keep people I know from RL reading it. So, if you feel you want to get to know me and we seem to have interests in common (I’m horrible at updating mine!) then feel free to comment on my FO post over there. Do not post over here asking to be friended over there. Please at least venture over. However, do not friend me over there if all you are looking for is help with graphics/overrides etc. You will be banned. There are plenty of override and graphic help communities around; I am not providing individual help. I will post tutorials, however. They will all be posted at this journal, and can be found in the memories.
I have a graphics journal. Can we affiliate?
If you have a graphics journal or a personal journal in which you post graphics for others to nab and wish to affiliate with me, then drop me a comment and a link to your work here. I most likely won’t say no, but I’d like to see your work before we affiliate :)
I used your codes and followed your instructions, but I got an error code on my entries page and all of the html appeared in a scrollbox at the top! Help?
Each and every one of my codes is checked to make sure they work before they are posted. Therefore, if you get these errors, it is most likely because you added or deleted something in the overrides during the editing process. Html coding errors are a pain to try and decipher, so my advice is to redo the codes. It’s not going to take long – not as long as it would take me to decipher where you went wrong at any rate. So try again if you get this message. If you still get this message after having redone the codes two or three times, then come back and ask me.
Help! Only my background is showing – the header image and side bar aren’t showing up. What should I do?
This one is insanely simple. At the start of every layout I post some standard information - one being ‘Website’. If the entry next to this says ‘required’ then make sure you do have a website listed in your userinfo (‘webpage URL’)! Otherwise, this will be the result. Not pretty.
Don’t have a website? Don’t sweat it… just put livejournal.com, or your own LJ. The codes have no way of checking that that is your website :)
Thank you so much for the layout! But, I was just wondering... how do I get it to show on my friends page?
I've said how in the instructions. By repeating the code and changing the heads from LASTN to FRIENDS. I put this in every set of instructions so please do not ask me this question in your comment. I will fail to answer you.
Okay, I did everything you said. Everything is perfect. BUT. The header image is smaller then it should be! / The layout is all squashed! What’s wrong?
The most popular imagehost is photobucket, and while they are great and all, they have a default max upload size setting most people miss. If the image I've provided is larger than 800x600, photobucket will automatically resize the image until it fits the right proportions. In this case, you need to change your max upload options from the default '15" screen (800x600)' to '1 Megabite file size'. You'll find this option just under the upload form. Also, I make sure that my images are smaller than 1Mb, therefore you should try and keep them in the file type I’ve posted. Altering from (eg) a .jpg to a .gif could very well make the file exceed this size, and so when you upload and code your layout, this is the result. I don’t know how other image hosts work, but I’m willing to bet they all have a similar feature, so, like I said, change your options and stick to the file type I’ve used and you shouldn’t have this problem :)
It’s taken me a long time to compile these FAQs, longer than I anticipated! Please use them – don’t be redundant and ask questions when the answer is right here for the taking. You’ll be wasting your time and mine. I don’t mean to sound abrupt, or harsh in anyway. But if I am going to continue to give out my work for other people to use, I just ask for a little co-operation. All in all, I hope you keep coming back for more graphical goodies!
